Spring foods 2012

This year I didn't feel like baking on Fat Tuesday. Luckily I wasn't the only one with the craving for these traditional buns with almond paste and cream.

Cream of asparagus soup


or that's what the recipe said; I threw in all kinds of bits and ends from the fridge like potato and celery that were about to go bad.

Spinach soup


Spinach soup always makes me think of spring, and now there's no denying it with temps getting into the 70s. I wish I had nettles on hand to pick, it's been years since I had nettle soup.
